The way Toronto city is set up confuses me. It's like some kid just picked up a bunch of lego pieces and tossed it on the ground and it became a city. I'm constantly getting lost, even with a map. There's just something very random about Toronto.
But it's not without it's charm. There's an area called Cabbagetown because they discovered the soil there was good for growing cabbages. Chinatown has really good dumplings and bakeries, and Greektown proudly flies canadian and greek flags on every other lamppost. Near Greektown is a natural food supermarket called The Big Carrot, located within an area called Carrot Common. It is THE best natural food store I've seen yet! Complete with bakery, deli and vege cafe. St. Lawrence market is another fantastic place, with great food and lots of produce (meat, cheese, olives, bread, fruit, veg, etc etc). The subway stations' various signage amused me to no end. I've given them their own photo gallery. My favourite - Museum Station.
