"Glacial" rafting

The Nenana River
I went whitewater rafting again. I think I'm hooked :) This time it was on the Nenana River near Denali in Alaska. The rapids weren't as rough as on the Ottawa River so we didn't tip or fall in, but I jumped in for a swim anyway. And, oh my, the water! The river is fed by melt from 2 glaciers, which means the close to 0 degrees C water was ice just 30 hours before! I still can't get my head around that. I swam in glacial melt!!! All I can say is, thank goodness for dry suits (though mine had a small leak, heheh).
