Calgary - Who cares about cowboys? There are dinosaurs around!!!

Wednesday, 22 Jul 2009 | Views [500]

I arrived the day after the famous Calgary Stampede. I think the city was still winding down from it cos the people and buildings were looking a little tired and worn. Suppose it didn't help that I arrived on a rainy day either. But here and there were ... Read more >

Climb every mountain....

Wednesday, 17 Jun 2009 | Views [444]

Went to see The Sound Of Music on my last night in Toronto. It was really good and a great end to my travels in this part of canada. The east has been good, but I can't say I'm not happy to leave it. It's mostly been nothing but cities and I'm kind of ... Read more >

Algonquin and Madawaska

Monday, 15 Jun 2009 | Views [459]

The Moose base camp in Madawaska was basically a large house with rooms stuffed with bunk beds. Funnily enough, it was a comfortable and relaxing stay. The living area had loungy couches and they have a reasonable selection of games, which were good fun.... Read more >

Auberge Esprit

Saturday, 13 Jun 2009 | Views [312]

The Pointe - Esprit's base camp was a fantastic place to just chill out and lounge. After the excitement of rafting, it was nice to lay about and enjoy the amazing sunset. The river was still enough that you could see the reflection of the clouds on the ... Read more >

Hakuna Matata!

Had a fantastic time white water rafting today! Went through some amazing rapids and fell out of the raft just once. It was great fun! Apparently the Ottawa River has the best rapids in the world. The weather was just perfect and our mexican guide was ... Read more >

Mont Tremblant

Thursday, 11 Jun 2009 | Views [441]

The Mont Tremblant ski village was, well, cute. It's like the set of a Dr. Seuss film with it's variously coloured tall buildings built on an incline, ski lifts and oversized furniture (admittedly I only saw one very large deck chair). But I imagine it's ... Read more >
