We got up and packed, ate breakfast and got on the road by 10am. We took the bus (64) back to Termini Station. Getting our tickets and boarding was seamless. The ride was smooth and we enjoyed the rain storms; clouds were intense.
We arrived to Naples at Garabaldi, took another train to Montesanto where we walked around. The locals were going about their daily lives; incredibly. Stands included fresh fruit, fish and an assortments of other household necessities.
We bought a few thing and stopped for some pastries and coffee; becoming our Italian habit.
We bought our tickets and jumped on the first train that arrived to the station. It was not the same route as we took going to Rome, but we thought it would end in the right location (so the signs said). After being on the train for an hour, it turned around and headed back to Montesanto. What a waste of time; oups!
We got onto the correct train, arrived back to the Pier close to Al's house; Torregaveta. We stopped to use the washroom at a little cafe; enjoyed a coffee.
The hike up the hill wasn't as bad as we thought. We arrived back to Al's house much later than we planned. We dropped our bags and planned to head out; dead car battery! Crap! After trying to push start it we gave up.
Tim and I walked to the grocery store to buy some beer and other provisions for dinner.
The last road-bump of the day was the power went out; Al and his landlord had it back on in about 30 minutes.
Tim roasted an excellent chicken that he bought at the market. Nice dinner and a quiet night. Tim did a bourbon tasting tour of Al's liquor cabinet.
