Don’t panic

Not sure about you but preparing to start at a new job is daunting. In about the space of 30 minutes the teacher I am substituting for handed over books, notes, rubrics and vast quantities of information about all there is to know about Grade 5 and all that was missing was the DON'T PANIC inscribed in large friendly letters.

So now I have one day left to try to dissect and comprehend these notes and create some form of order before escaping to Vietnam, so I may be fully prepared for my first day. Yesterday the table at a near by coffee shop was transformed into a work space with teachers books and notes chaotically scattered all over it. I quickly created a calendar for the two months, so I could lock in due dates for things, and started making weekly planners to make some type of order of it. It’s best to be systematic about these things...well it’s either that or freak out!!

The teacher I am replacing is amazingly gifted at his job. He has made sure I am well informed and ready to go. I have some incredibly big shoes to fill. However, I have decided I am not doing to let this intimidate me - because I am just going to bring my own shoes and be the kind of teacher that God has called me to be. Can't do better than that :)

I start at Logos on the 17th of April and am both excited and nervous about it all. Would appreciate prayers that God would bless my preparation and would aid me in the transition into this new work place.

Definitely wear your own shoes... or go barefoot!
I am praying for you in this new chapter of your ministry.
