Australia is one of those beautiful countries that you just know God enjoyed adding some extra characteristics to that can’t be found anywhere else in the world. As we drove around yesterday to Mt Tamborine and Natural Bridge I was taken aback by just how many gorgeous trees swept over the land. Trunks stood tall draped in a garment of tiny leaves that gave off a pleasant eucalyptus aroma. Australia is one gorgeous country.
At Mt Tamborine we explored some of the little shops. Sales assistance were eager to say hi and to start chatting away. Thida has truly got the impression that Australia is one friendly nation. Also the Australian humour was out on display with a giant frog dressed up as Santa, a laughing dragon that will crack up as soon as you enter the shop and some tree trunk characters. Well it does make for a great photo opportunity.
At lunch we had to have a meat pie….I mean what is more Aussie than that? So as we sat outside taking in all that was around us we dug into our tasty meaty morsels and they were incredible.
Then it was off to Natural Bridge to walk down to the waterfall. The water from the rivers flows down through a natural rock arch and into a cave. It started raining as we were driving there but we weren’t going to let that stop us. So walking at a fast pace (it was so cold) we quickly did the loop track, taking in all the natural beauty of this breathtaking rainforest. It was so fresh with twittering birds and other peaceful sounds.
On our way home I was getting a bit concerned by the direction the GPS was taking us. I could see a line on the map that looked like a boarder and we seemed to be travelling south rather than the north-east that we needed to go in to get back to Brisbane. My concerns were grounded as we crossed the boarder into New South Wales and mum needed to find a safe place to turn around. More bush driving – I’m not at all complaining.
I am just reminded yet again why I refer to Australia as one of the most beautiful places on earth. I’m missing home in Cambodia but am enjoying the stunning nature of Oz. Very blessed.
