Swimming in the Gulf

On the way with our bikes to our favorite groceries store -Spinney’s- Marta and I stopped at the women’s beach. I stripped down to my bra and underwear, and went swimming – for the first time this visit. The beach, the sand – all is men made, but, who cares? The temperatures and the company were right!

In this lovely environment I got myself talked into signing up for a 10 day silent retreat in Mumbai. What was I thinking?

Coby predicted I would swell up like a tick and burst………………

You know what “silent retreat” means, right? No talk, no phone, no books, no paper and pencil, no eye contact, not even yoga……………just you and yourself for 10 days straight…………………I’d rather go sky diving………….10 times in a row – but I signed up!

Another thing about women: You get certain privileges, like getting served faster – sitting in a special place in a crowded waiting area.  – it does not feel like discrimination, it’s a choice, you don’t have to sit there…………but cutting the line in any bank and post office – sure, I take advantage of that and you bet I do!
