After leaving my home, my life, my daughter................arriving in Dubai, was entering a science fiction movie - ghost town. All the shiny new
walls - a dizzying inviroment. Ready for the crowds to arrive - in hope they will be attracted by the money and leave their money.
Coby came to greet me, pick me up after flying around the world - a direct flight from S.F. to Dubai - 16 hours of nothing to do, which was a blessing after
running around like a mad woman getting EVERYTHING done -so I did, YES, almost unbelievable, experiencing some kind of a panic after Coby left the country,
our home for the past 21 years, raising Nora, creating our life together.
That I could not possibly get it ALL done............surprise, I did get it all done. So, the flight was the relaxing part AND I enjoyed it. The Emirates
Airline were very generous with their chocolate - food in general.
So, Coby, yes, he was there, red roses in hand and a box of FINE chocolate................so good to see him!!!!
The taxi ride to Abu Dhabi was in a dark daze, but not unpleasant - fast though...........and then the apartment......more like a hotel. Works, works for me
for us............
Marco is our roommate. A Sicilian Italien who is going to cook spaghetti tonight..........can't wait.......
My days here have been full, somehow, going to an internet cafe just about every day, just sitting and watching..........Arabs are affectionate with each
other, woman with woman, man with man - walking with arms wrapped around each other -no effection between man and women though.
