Byebye Cusco

Despite the warnings that I would stay longer than I wish, I think I`m leaving just on time. In total I`ve spent about 3 days in Cusco, the rest have been to Machu Picchu and the rafting. It`s a lovely city but doesn`t show you what Peru is really like. Tourists are milked like cows, nobody really cares who you are. It`s the same for the locals, their trade is tourism, and most of the time the tourists don`t care for them either. I don`t like beggers, and here even the venders will beg you to buy something from them. I find that really low.

So! After the rafting trip I had to go visit the TACA airline office to see about good deals flying to Colombia. No luck. Then I had a cheap 1 hour full body massage (about AU$8). The lady didn´t know anything about the human body and how to dissipate knots etc. I think she probably learnt the routine from a video, and apply it consistently to all her customers. Nevertheless, the 1 hour rest on the bed made me really sleepy and tired. I was supposed to go to a restaurant with the rest of the rafting people to see a video, but slept right through. Later, went to Mama Africa`s again, where I was supposed to meet people, and stayed out till about 3. This morning, I was soooooo tired. Luckily Inna and Evan came to Mama Africas after the video, we had arranged to go to Jack`s Cafe for breakfast (really famous in Cusco, good food, apparently owned by an Aussie). I dragged my ass out of bed, had breakfast, went to bus station with Inna to get tickets to Arequipa for tomorrow morning, even went to a museum and supermarket to buy food. The walk back to the hostel was torturous. But I slept about 4 hours and feel better now. Tonight I hope to do not very much.
