Gyros and souvlakias everywhere.
We took a last minute flight from Corfu to Athens Saturday night/Sunday morning. Arrived in Athens around 1230 or 1ish, and the city was still wide awake. We hurried to our hostel, got settled, and went to the nearest gyro shop. We have eaten them for every meal thus far, because it is cheap, and more delicious than words can describe.
Today was the Acropolis. Pretty awesome seeing the modern city juxtaposed to the antiquity of ruins. Today we were walking down a street of shops, at the end of it was an old Byzantine church. In front of the church I listened to a man play the sax, and the music cut through the din of the mixed crowd of locals and tourists. It was beautiful.
I got pics up, so enjoy the like 2% of my many thousand I was able to upload.
Cheers. Ciao. Adio.
