During the train ride through the mountains in Alausi, Ecuador

Okay, I love traveling so much, but I hate leaving places behind. Which I suppose is really bad if you're backpacking, but it's just so depressing every time I leave. In every city so far, when I'm going that day, I feel so...down. I'm not sure why, exactly, because it's not like I won't meet cool new people and do cool new things in the next place; no logic. But tonight I'm catching a night bus to Lima, hopefully, spending a day or two there. I'm not really sure because Angela is coming down to Peru soon! But the thing is I don't know where or when so I have to wait until she emails me back. But that would be totally amazing to see a familiar face from back home :D

The other night we (meaning people from the hostel and the surfing teachers) went out to the bar and drinking on the beach, and I had a BRUTAL hangover all yesterday because I'm an idiot and always forget to hydrate. The British guys I was supposed to go to Lima with left a couple days ago, before I felt ready to leave, and now the Quebec girl I was going to go with isn't leaving until Sunday (and I think I'm just finished here...cold weather, not much to do aside from eat or surf). I might do a tour of the old archeological places near here. I'm not really interested in that stuff, but it's something to do! I've been having so much fun here but I can't write about it because it just sounds really boring when it's described! But I assure you much fun is happening, and I'm learning Spanish as I go along. I think I'd like to take more lessons when I get back to Canada, then come back to S America after college and be fluent, because the locals are so, so cool, but I only understand some of what they're saying and can't respond very much. My reading is about 80% (as far as understanding what they're saying in a basic form, as far as knowing what every word means it's like 25%), my listening is about 50-70% depending on who's talking (again, knowing what they're talking about), and my speaking is soooo limited! So now I seem all quiet and really laid-back to everyone, despite the fact that I am SO NOT!!! I just can't communicate what I want! But I am learning loooads, and I'll keep working on it!
