But, every cloud has a silver lining. As many of you know, a French Cultural Committee has selected 100 cities or villages as the most beautiful in France. Over the years we have visited many of them and every summer we try to visit at least one. Some areas in France have more of them than others. Much to our surprise and delight, shortly after leaving the dreadful "road", we entered a valley between several huge Alps and entered a charming ski village that was plaqued "One of the 100 Most Beautiful Villages of France" . The name of the town is La Grave. Obviously, it is a ski resort but there were lots of people visiting for summer hiking, biking and the spas.
