A New Neighborhood

NETHERLANDS | Monday, 15 August 2016 | Views [212]

Today we explored a different section of Amsterdam. It is called Jordaan and is known as the “arty” area. The streets are a wee bit smaller (which makes them really narrow) and they are a great deal less crowded! The shops were even more narrow but interesting to visit. And the canals in this part of town are filled with very large houseboats. For you wine lovers, one of them had a very unique way of displaying the empty bottles. This weekend marked the beginning of the Amsterdam music festival. We stumbled upon one that was highlighting a great young jazz group. They were so good we stayed for all three sets. Many photos in the photo gallery.
