All is well and we are settling in. It is a bit weird for us not to understand the language. . Despite what people say about everyone here speaking English, that's not quite accurate! Most do, but we have had some awkward moments!
If there were bikes galore in Utrecht, there are thousands more here! And what a variety. Many are fitted with extra seats for children. And you see families all the time on the side, in a special barrel-like seat, on the back of a bike or even two seats, one on each side of the main bike. Walking is really tricky. You have to watch out for cars, trams, buses, and the bikes. By the time you check for everything, there is usually a bike coming at you from some direction! And the bikes have priority. There is no such thing as a leisurely stroll!
