Paimpol, a Town That Promotes the Arts

NETHERLANDS | Sunday, 31 July 2016 | Views [228]

We didn't really know what to expect of Paimpol but we were very pleasantly surprised by all the art galleries, pottery shops and one co-op that was filled with some of the most interesting handmade items that we have seen all summer! Sometimes it is really frustrating being limited by a suitcase/s and something that is very fragile. There was a very whimsical frog, sitting under a lily pad with a little figure of a young girl with a parasol riding on its back. Ed and I both liked it but the thought of trying to get it home, in one piece, would have been daunting. It was made of recycled paper and glue (somewhat like paper-mache) I had visions of opening up the suitcase and unwrapping the bubble paper to find it squashed beyond recognition! Besides, I reasoned with myself, it would be a real pain to dust!
