The "Bonbon" Capital of Normandy

FRANCE | Wednesday, 6 July 2016 | Views [331]

The weather today wasn't cooperating so we decided to stay close to home and explore two of the close by beach towns. The first one,Villers, we had driven through on our way to Houlgate (It had the huge dinosaur topiary and we even found a baby dinosaur too) The beach walk is nicely done and the small town is filled with the same well cared for half-timbered homes that you find here in Deauville. We then drove on to Cabourg. It is more a small beach “city” than little town. The apartments along their beach walk are newer but in keeping with the Normandy architecture. BUT, the most fun was discovering a centrally located street filled with the super yummy candy, chocolate and biscuit shops! And most of them, fortunately or not, were offering samples as well! There were candied fruits, nougat in every flavor and shape, different flavors of caramel,

chocolate and ice cream as well as so many different kinds of cakes and cookies...
