This morning we headed off to the quaint little town of Beaumont. Guidebooks say not to miss it. And they are correct. The village looks like it could be used in a movie set.
I have written before about the 100 Plus Beaux Villages en France. To recap, these are the villages that have been judged the most charming in all of France and there are just 100 of them. This guarantees that they receive quite a bit of publicity and therefore lots of tourists and their money!
Having a with-it National Tourist Board, someone has come up with the idea of putting out another book. This one lists ”100 Villages Not to Miss”. So, this promotes an additional 100 villages! Now your challenge is to look at the photos of Beaumont today and then the village of Beuvron tomorrow and decide which one is considered one of the “100 Most Lovely Villages in France” and which one makes the second book! No cheating. Through the years we've had fun deciding if we agree with the experts.
