Just a word before I start the blog. The TV in France announced a shooting in Orlando at 8:05 a.m. French time. I thought it was a bit odd because the report also said that ”The police ask that all people stay away from the area at this time.” Didn't realize what had happened until several hours later when we arrived in Deauville.
How tragic and to think that I was worried about flying into Brussels. Needless to say, our prayers are with the families and friends who have lost someone. I hope that the good acts of kindness like 1,500 people who lined up in the heat to donate blood and the many other random acts of caring don't go unnoticed and aren't drowned out by the bigots who want to use this event to further their own goals.
