Compliments to the chef!! That'll be me then

I was up until the early hours watching the Brazilian Grand Prix, and it was great to see Lewis Hamiton win the championship.

Got picked up from the hostel by the chef and taken to the local market, where we met some other wannabe chefs.  The market was very busy and as you can imagine the market sold a variety of things one would never see in the UK.  The meat section was interesting.  They pretty much sell everything from the animal, and that includes everything.  Which would explain the curly peice of tough meat I had earlier in the week!!!

Myself and the group then went to the local cooking college where we cooked a number of dishes including Steamed Stuffed Vegetables, Beer Fish, Chicken with Cashew Nuts, Aubergine Yangsho Style and Green Vegetables with Garlic.  The whole experience was very excellent and I'm sure I'll be getting my wok out when I get back to the UK.

Collected my things from the hostel and got the bus to Guilin to catch the 18 hour overnight train to Kunming.  I had opted for the cheaper sleeper carriage which turned out to be fine.  After being redirected to the correct bed, I met a Dutchman who had been living in China for ten years.  Nice to have someone to talk to, although much of it was about his Christian missionary work.  I think he came to the conclusion I wasn't ready to be saved at this point.  Plugged in my IPod and settled in for the night.
