Ever once and a while a popular T.V. decides you know what we don't feel like doing a new show this week, lets do a clip show. For those of you who are scratching your heads, a clip show is exactly what it sounds like a show full clips. Where they come up with a flimsy opening that gives them a pretext to show a bunch of flashbacks which happen to be previously aired episodes. All Fans of a certain T.V. know and hate this, because you are getting ripped off. I mean you waited all week for a brand mew episode of your favorite show, but instead you get a rehash of stuff you have already seen. Well this isn't exactly a clip blog it is what will become to be known as the question and answer blog. Lets be honest I have been on her like everyday for like the last week with fresh and funny material. So I am taking a night off tonight and am just going to answer your questions. On a side note I went and got some noodles to eat while I was doing this blog. Usually I take Luke or Finn with me, but tonight I went to get noodles for the first time by myself. Now I know what I want and can say it in Chinese I just forgot to ask for no spice. My mouth is on fire right, I can't feel my lips and I can guarantee I will have to stop half way through this post to go visit the bathroom. If that wasn't bad enough I made the mistake of rubbing my eye and now it is watering uncontrollably. So if the spelling and grammar is worse than usual that is why.
First I want give a shout out to two new contributors to blog, Jim D. and my best friend from Boston, Bryan. Oh wait that's right it wasn't Bryan it was his girlfriend Kate, who posted. Kate who has never met me and has never spoken to me. Kate you sound like a really nice person, and I want to thank you for contributing to the blog, and Bryan you are a jerk. I mean seriously you can't post any comments yourself, I honestly have no idea why Kate, who seems like an awesome person, is with a bad person like you. You should be ashamed of yourself even Ein has taken the time to write me and he has no opposable thumbs. Sorry about now on with the blog.
First I will handle all of Jim D's questions: No I have not put a buffet out of business yet, but when I bought noodles today the guy making the noodles decided a good topic for small talk with the American was how much did I weigh. There is a McDonald's and I have eaten there. My favorite meal is actually the hotcake breakfast. Unlike McDonald's in the States, where you get pre-made frozen hotcakes, they actually mix up hotcake batter and cook them up on a griddle while you wait. It is delicious, but to get more than one syrup you have to endure a gauntlet of stares. It is like you just asked for the firstborn child, and it doesn't end with the lady at the counter. She yells it out so all the employees know you want more syrup and the whole production stops. The manager comes out of the office and just stares at you for like 2 minutes to just make sure you really want that syrup. It is a little intimidating to say the least. As for a Chinese "Softrock" there is and there isn't. There are Karaoke bars all over the city call KTV. Like the Rock they have Karaoke all night every night, and it is bad karaoke. They only have like 5 American songs, one of them is Bon Jovi "Living on a Prayer", and the rest are Chinese songs and they are bad singers. Now unlike the Rock there are more than 5 people in the bar. There are no big waves and the aren't the same 3 fat dudes singing the same 7 songs they sang the night before. They do have a Silverstrike which lists Dan J. as having a 300 game that you weren't there to see.
As for a program to cut and edit my videos so I can post them, I still have no idea. The Microsoft video editor would probably do what I need except for the fact that if it is pre-installed it is in Chinese so I have no idea where it is or how to use it. So a few people have offered to hookup me up with some programs that would do what I need. I more than welcome any programs or advice anybody would like to offer me. Just keep in mind I don't have access to the same resources that you guys do in America. Most sites that you would think are harmless can be blocked. The blocking can be completely random. One day I can access ESPN.com ans the next day it won't connect, so I have to use a proxy. However when you use a proxy you can't run Javascript or Flash or any other plug-ins. So any help is welcome if you have questions and want to help feel free to send me an email at patterson.24@wright.edu so I can communicate with you directly.
Some people are not sure what my schedule is right now. I have one class a week from 10:30 to 12:00 on Wednesday, it is not one of my regular class but one I picked up to help out. So on August 24th the Freshman classes begin. The Freshman have to show up the weekend after classes begin, but they don't start classes till two weeks later. The reason for that is because they have two weeks of mandatory military training for all Freshman. They wear fatigues for the two weeks, but for some reason the shirt is red and white camo and the pants are blue and white camo, not really blending in much. But is always nice at 6 in the morning to hear them all lined up on the basketball courts shouting at the top of their lungs. So as of right now I am working 2 hours a week, yes 2 hours a week. Since the class I am teaching tomorrow is not gong to be my class in two weeks I haven't really prepared to hard for it. Don't get me wrong I have a plan and I know what I am going to do tomorrow, but I waited till like 2 this afternoon to come up with that plan.
So that's it for the question blog, I know there was only a few questions this time but the next one should have more. If you want it to have more then you need to ask questions, because the more work you do the less I have to do, since I am already swamped at work.
