Always on the road!

Today after school we met Chiara at the train station to go to Roma. When we got there, we found out our train was cancelled so we would have to take a different one. However, the seats are assigned so when we took the other train, people could just kick us out of our seats if they were assigned to that seat. I got kicked out of my seat once, but then we went to a different car and luckily found seats close by each other. After we checked into the hotel, we walked to Piazza della Republica and took the metro to Via del Corso. We were going to shop because that was the street we could actually afford but I didn’t end up buying anything (which is a good thing). We also saw the Spanish Steps which I was slightly disappointed with. They definitely aren’t as big or as cool in person but that might have been because there were so many people. In pictures without people, they are absolutely beautiful, but with ugly people, not so much. After walking around for awhile, we went back to the hotel to get all dressed up for dinner at the COLOSSEUM! I wore my new Barcelona dress and earrings and we were all pretty dressed up which was fun. The restaurant we went to (Il Gladiatore) had really good food and our waiter was hilarious. Morgan and I were saying we were cold because we ate outside (yes, staring at the Colosseum!) so he brought us tablecloths to use as blankets. He also brought us some crazy shots of what tasted like Jager (but wasn’t!) After about 5 bottles of wine, shots and tiramisu, we got cabs to the street with the free clubs Chiara was telling us about. We went to a bar called On the Rox which is one of Chiara’s favorites and had a drink there. Chiara ended up going back to the hotel after On the Rox, but we kept walking and found what we thought was a good club. We only had to pay 5 euro each to get so we thought it was an ok deal, until we went inside that is. They were only playing creepy techno music and someone said the hip hop was upstairs so we went up and asked the DJ why he wasn’t playing hip hop music and he said DONE FINISHED so we ended up just leaving and going back to the hotel. No more lame-o techno for me.
