Today we rode a tram that shows
you the whole city. The views were beautiful. After getting of the tram, we
walked around the park at the top of this hill and found this really cool
swing. When we were walking out of the park, we saw this crazy bum man who was
talking to himself and Morgan swears she heard him say Tanto Blanco Bitch about
her because she was picking all the different flowers and putting them into her
hair. We ended up walking back to the little market close to the hostel but we
found a mall along the way which had an H&M in it where I bought another
dress (really? 3 in 1 weekend, yeah!). We were so tired after walking all day
so we went back to the hostel to take a nap and get ready for the night. We
wanted to go see the fountain show outside the palace. Alexia, Crystal and
Kristi ended up leaving early and so Katie, Morgan and I got ready later and
took the city bus there. When we got there, we didn’t see the other girls and
when we called them they told us they left to get dinner because the fountain
didn’t work. We were kind of annoyed that they didn’t call and tell us they
left but we decided to just stay there and walk up the steps to the palace and
see the view of the city. When we were at the top of the palace, there were 2
guys (Leonardo and Alessandro) standing there and they asked us if the fountain
was working and they seemed to have an Italian accent so Morgan asked where
they were from and they were from Naples. We talked to them for a little while
and Leonardo was explaining America’s
geography to us while we asked him questions, it was pretty funny! We were
supposed to meet the other girls for a Flamenco show at 10:30 so we decided to go get some KFC before with our new
friends. We took the metro again and went back to Las Ramblas. We went to KFC
(and had some amazing mashed potatoes!) and after dinner we tried to find the
flamenco show but we ended up being too late for it so we called Alessandro and
Leonardo’s friend Emi and he came and met us and took us to this amazing
sangria place. It was so much fun because from the looks of the place, it isn’t
one that tourists would just wander in to, but it was such a cool atmosphere
and the drinks were great! Hanging out with the guys was a lot of fun too
because Emi (Emiliano) played AMERICAN football on a team in Europe
for 14 years. I was talking to him about football and I kept getting so excited
and I just remember him saying “Girls don’t normally like football this much,
right?” Yeah Emi, this girl does! We went back over to Emi’s apartment after
the sangria and had some limoncello and just hung out/I passed out for a little
bit! Morgan, Katie and I walked home around 6AM
and decided to stay awake for the sunrise. Donuts and a sunrise over Barcelona’s
water, anything better than that? Probably not.
