Woke up to our first morning of rain. It eased off by about 10 so all three of us headed into the Brough Markets near London Bridge. So much good food! Stalls of all sorts of fresh fruit and verges, seafood, meats, cheese and preserves. And all sorted of food to eat. Had a look round, tasting what was on offer before all heading to separate tents for our selection for lunch – so good. I decided to try a Scotch egg and Ian had the most enormous oysters. From there we went two ways. Ian went to the Imperial War Museum (via home as I had left the hockey tickets there – I big oops – thanks Ian). That kept him entertained for the afternoon. The centre of London was sort of closed for “Cycle London” – there were thousands of cyclists everywhere. Carole and I headed off to Mamma Mia. So totally different from Hamilton – a light hearted, good fun musical and we really enjoyed it. Then Carole and I parted company and I headed off to the hockey to meet Ian for my ticket and joined the Bartram crowd. Belgium and Japan had a very high scoring game with Belgium winning 6:3. Then the local rivals Australia and New Zealand played. It was a great match, tight and hard fought and an appropriate result at 1:1. This means Australia finish top of their pool and go through to the quarter finals on Wednesday which we will not be here for ☹. Caught up with Jocie after the match.
