Cirque de Soliel

Cirque de Soliel

Got up in the morning and headed to the pool. After that we went for wander down the strip. Las Vegas is quite amazing. Everything is over the top - even the temperature. Today was 45 degrees and as the week goes on its only getting hotter so good thing we are moving on. The casinos are more than just casinos - they have huge shopping malls with incredibly ornate structures, like Roman cities, dolphin show aquariums or Eiffel Towers around and in them. It is just amazing. There is one that sort of pretends to be the Disney castle and is really tacky. The Luxor pyramid is quite interesting architecturally as it is about 20 stories high and hollow inside (apart from the shops and exhibits, one with real Titanic relics) and seemingly unsupported. And people gamble on slot machines and tables at all hours of the day. For our evening entertainme we went to one of the 5 permanent Cirque du Soliel shows. It was over water and stage management was really interesting and the show exceptional. We had excellent seats (thanks to our travel agent Jade) and even got to interact a bit with the cast. After watching the Bellagio fountains the girls had a go on a really long roller coaster - have a great photo!!
