Headed off from Edinburgh trying to conquer the quirkiness of our Citroen hire car. It has some 'special' features which I am not sure we will figure out. Drove to Ravenglass in the Lakes District through rain but got there in the dry. Staying at Muncaster castle (ok in the coachman's quarters) and have free access to the grounds so went and saw an owl display as this is the headquarters of the World Owl Trust. We learnt a bit and I even got to hold a barn owl - sort of! It holds you! We then travelled on the scenic narrow gauge steam railway to Dalegarth For Boot, return.
