So here we are, second day in Montreal and hoping for an improvement on yesterday. On the plus side the weather today is lovely so I can look forward to a day wandering around in sandals and t-shirt - hoorah. So, went off to see the Old Town today and you know what - it was a lot nicer than the down town area. More touristy but very quiet and pretty with some quite interesting buildings too. Looking at my photos so far I seem to have taken mostly buildings but I guess that`s what happens when you`re on your own - quite tricky to take pictures of yourself in interesting places.Sat and had a quiet coffee in the sunshine and read my book for a bit. Then went and looked around a really beautiful church, or may be it classes as a Cathedral (not quite sure)anyway it was so peaceful, if the sun hadn`t been shining outside I`d have stayed for ages, not cos I`m religious just cos it was lovely in there. Then yet another museum, this one was called Musee Pointe-a-Calliere - I have no idea what that means and it was a bit of a pretentious museum but had a tower from where I coudl see the city and I love heights. Sight seeing over I went and did some shopping and ended up getting that extra pair of trousers I`ve been craving - can`t believe I`m so excited about having something else to wear when it`s only been a few days with my current wardrobe - doesn`t bode well for the next three and a half months!!!
Any way off to Quebec City tomorrow and I`m really hoping for more friendly people and a nicer city. Fingers crossed
