Notes from Day 1. 3 flights to get from Charleston to Venice. had to have my bag checked for suspicious items in Paris & lady fucked up my perfect packing. Paris airport insanely packed and chaotic. thought i would miss my connection but i made it to Venice. Successfully bought ticket but almost missed bus cuz I thought it was the wrong one. Got a ticket & figured out the correct vaporetto route. Ride sucked with burden of a backpack. Found hostel, room not ready, walked around completely exhausted from my 18 hours of traveling. Found pizza to refuel, watched a group of girls play soccer with a plastic water bottle. Peeked in all the alley ways and courtyards at the little neighborhoods and gazed at the beautiful view on the other side. Now ready to pass out.
