Day 57
AUSTRALIA | Friday, 12 August 2011 | Views [332]
Today we did all the recommended sightseeing around Yeppoon. First port of all was Emu Park which is not far from where we are staying. The lookout there gave an excellent view of Great Keppell and surrounding islands as well as the bay nearby. There is a singing boat commemorating Captain Cook's visit to the area, although it was not singing today as it was not windy enough. Next we went to the marina area and did the walk to the Double Bluff lookouts which got the heart pumping a little on the way up but was worth it for the views all around. We then went back to the lookout we visited yesterday to take photos today in the better light before driving about 40kms to Blyfield where we had lunch, visited a pottery gallery and went for a rainforest walk. On the walk we both came very close to stepping on the little slithery critter that I hope you can see at the end of the photos for today.
