Day 59

Hervey Bay from Torquay beach.
This morning we went to the Hervey Bay boat harbour area where there was a seafood festival. There were a variety of stalls with both crafts and food to buy as well as information booths about boat safety, using boats in a manner to maintain the evironment and marine species. Fresh seafood was also available to buy and take home to serve. The food stalls had a focus on seafood and included a Spanish Paella which looked pretty good but not as good as Christopher's. As we had arrived at the festival rather early we did not stop for lunch but decided to do the tourist drive around the esplanade and then had lunch at Torquay. We are having a relaxing afternoon at the van - John watching the football and I am about to read a book once I have sorted out which parks to stay at in Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Tomorrow we head for the Sunshine Coast but have decided to Stay at Forest Glen near Buderim as that is central to both the coast and the hinterland, such as Montville, which we really enjoy. PS - We would love to hear from some of you. You can either make a comment on this journal or send an email. I would love some feedback on the journal - is it boring you to death or does it not give enough detail. Feel free to let me know. CW
