Day 40

AUSTRALIA | Tuesday, 26 July 2011 | Views [212]

This morning we did a short walk at Mossman Gorge which the photos in no way show how wonderful a place it is. John wanted to visit a glass gallery but had left the directions back at the van. Fortunately we stumbled across their sign and after following a twisty road a number of kms we found an interesting timber structure with some very good glass art as well as jewellery and ornaments. We then headed for Daintree Village where we had lunch and gathered information. Unfortunately not that long after taking the Daintree Ferry (cost $22 return) we were held up by roadworks for some time. We stopped at a lookout, a beach and at Cape Tribulation which were all worth visiting but really the highlight of the trip was the drive itself with the amazing palms, huge ferns and trees as well as creeks, sea views and just the whole atmosphere.
