Day 32
AUSTRALIA | Monday, 18 July 2011 | Views [240]
It was sad to leave Kurumba this morning but we have to keep moving if we are to get to Port Douglas by Saturday for John Mac's party. We drove via Normanton and Croydon to Georgetown all of which were involved in mining in 1800s. The Burns Philp Company established its second Queensland branch in Normanton and the building is now used as the visitor information centre and the town library. After a wander around Normanton we drove on to Croydon which also has a number of historic buildings. The caravan park in Georgetown is a sad disappointment after last night and had a huge tree in the way of where I needed to park. Thank goodness for other experienced caravanners who help us park when needed.
