We drove from Kings Canyon to Alice Springs the long way (470
km )– on the bitumen all the way. Alice Springs is very different to what we
remember from 1972 - lots of traffic
driving fast, traffic lights and roundabouts. It is surrounded by rocky hills
but the weather is great with blue skies but very cold nights. The Caravan Park
is very well organised with men on scooters to help with any problems. Attended
a talk in the evening on central Australian flora and fauna - very interesting
but very cold as it was held in the outdoor kitchen.
