Fierce Invalids in Hot Climates Amber and Jerad chronicle their life-changing journey from Napa Valley wine snobs to globe-exploring vegabonds

New Zealand Reflection

So today is our last day in New Zealand and the van is ready to be returned and the bags are packed.  We are just taking advantage of the local library to get some free internet before we fly to Australia this afternoon.  I wanted to give some thoughts on this leg of the trip since the last blog was more about what we have been doing.  All in all New Zealand has been a mixed experience for both Amber and I.  While the country is beautiful and definitely worth seeing, it feels a little bit like going to a really nice area of California and paying a bucket load to do so.  The people have been less than inviting and both Amber and I are ready to head off to a new place.  This is not to say that we haven't done some awesome things and made some priceless memories.  Getting the van was a good way to see more of the country and we are happy we chose to use this mode of accomodation/transportation, but it has been about 4 days too long and we are both ready to get back to hostels, hot showers, and a real bed to sleep in at night.  Hope all is well back home and the next time you hear from us we should be in Oz.  Till then much love. J & A-
Sorry to hear of the less inviting New Zealanders. You could always cancel the rest of trip and come back to Florida! :)

Love,
The biggest bro.
