So we have been covering quite a bit of ground since we last posted. We got into sydney and stayed at a colorful hostel in what appeared to be the Australian equavalent of a red light district and after 2 less that sleepful nights we headed north to Byron bay. This is a beach town on the eastern coast that is a cross between Eugene and southern California if you can even try to imagine that. We spent 5 nights there just relaxing and taking it all in. The beach was beautiful and the weather was ok. We actually decided not to go to Fraser island, sorry Jeryln, due to questionable weather. We had an interesting stay but didn't quite connect with the area. After New Zealand and Autralia both Amber and I were ready to go to a place a little more exotoc and a whole lot cheaper. We are currently in Kho Pha Ngan getting ready for the full moon and the biggest party on the planet. We spent 9 hours on a plane, 15 hours on a train, 6 hours on a bus and 3 hours on a ferry to get here so we are both happy to settle in and relax. Thailand is fantastic, cheap, and full of great surprises. We arrived last night and got extremely lucky to find accomadation. We are staying in a bungalow overlooking the beach at a really friendly and colorful place just up the hill from town. It was actually booked but the tenants didn't show up and at about ten last night we were informed we could have it. It has breathtaking views and despite the other tenants (spiders, ants, and lizards) we coudn't have asked for a better situation. We will be posting some picture in about a week when we get to Bangkok and will be sure to update you all as to how this week long rave on a Thai beach goes. Have fun and we'll be in touch. JN
