ive only ever stayed in a hostel once before, i had a great time but it was a room full of all my friends and i didnt have to outwardly socialise with anyone else there.
ill admit that i was quit nervous about my first "proper" hostel experience. especially when, on checking in we were offered an upgrade to a private two person room.
but budget considerations and a conscious choice to see what a dorm would be like made me decline. im quite glad i did, i may have been lucky with the people we have had in our dorm, at least one person has left every single day.
so far they have all spoken english, and although some are less chatty than others, every night we have had the opportunity to go out to dinner with some of them, or stay in and drink with others either just chatting or playing cards.
a very relaxed atmosphere where you learn alot about other peoples countries and have fun for free which works wonders for the budget.
we lost 4 people however today, so im unsure who we are going to get in tonight, will find out when i wander back to the hostel, and see if they are upto the caliber of our usual residents
