We turned up to Delat not really knowing what to expect. I found it great. There were less western people than in Saigon (or Siem Reap for that matter) Being aboput 1500m above sea level it was a lot cooler too.
Stayed there 2 nights in the end and on our one full day there we paid $15 each for a driver to take us aroun the local area. We went to a small hamlet in search of a big chicken and weren't let down. As a follow up we went to Detalna falls. There are a few falls about but none which transport you to them via roller coaster, a definate deal breaker. Going further into the mountians we saw scenary that wouldn't look out of place in the Peak District.
In town we got to try local food, sometimes by accident. Going in search of beer we sat down in a cafe and got served with small pancakes instead, which were a decent substitute, though unexpected.
After a great 2 days in the mountians we boarded the bus for Nha Trang and the beach....
