It was the last day for one of the long term volunteers today so a village party was organised. Pig was on the menu - a whole one cooked overnight. Plus 15 slabs of the finest Angkor Beer.
The experiance was quite surreal, the whole of the local community came out for the party. For $10 dollars they rented a massive sound system, powered by a petrol generator. Once the music kicked off, it was like a magnet, even more people started turning up, by the end there were probably about 90 people there. There was lots of dancing in circles and drunken volleyball being played. When we ate all the men sat in a circle while the women sat in the "kitchen" area, serving when the men asked for more beer (Not sure you would've appreciated that Mona!!).
It lasted for about 3 hours. once there was no more beer it was pretty much time to head home.
