Having missed the Grand Canyon out to get to Vegas we decided that the right thing to do was to head back east to go and see it. we'd already decided not to visit the north side of the canyon on Mona's recommendation so figured we'd go see the south side. It was only about 350miles away. A short drive.
We stopped off outside Vegas to see the Hoover dam and for a bit of time traveling and then headed for a town called Williams, situated just south of the Canyon on Route 66. the town was just one street. we went to a bar there and found that a local fornightly pool tournament was being held there. A drunk taxi driver called Ventura introduced himself he said he ran a one man taxi service 24/7. He was always on call. After getting knocked out of the tournament he left to go get stoned in his taxi office.
