Woke up in New York and caught a train from Penn station to Philly via Trenton. Caught the NJ Transit because it was more than half the price of Amtrak.
Picked up the car from Philly station. I volunteered to drive 1st. Very strange driving on the wrong side of the road and an automatic. I randomly drove the car around Philly for 30mins before for parking up right neixt to the steps from the Rocky Movie. (see pics). This is the only thing we saw in Philly before heading to Washington. 160miles to the whitehouse! Whitehouse is rubbish. its tiny, although it does look like a house and it is white so we should have realised what to expect. No snow but weather is -11C. Stayed in a motel outside the center.
3rd went back into Washington to see Lincoln memorial (where Martin Luther King gave his I have dream speech) then moved towards Niagra. (440miles North West!)
