Candles for the Dead

I decided to take a short nap before visiting the Basilica del Sto. Niño when I arrived here in Cebu yesterday. My plan was to sleep for only thirty minutes, but I overslept I woke up at about 4:30 p.m. I was really disappointed when I saw what time it was. Basilica del Sto. Niño was an hour away and I'm losing daylight. My camera doesn't perform well at night. Anyway, I got dressed up, I ate, and I left my hotel.

I got at Basilica del Sto. Niño at about 5:45 p.m. The sun was setting. The place was getting dark. I thought to myself, "I'll never get great images now." However, something caught my eyes when I went around the old church. I saw people lighting candles for the dead. It was a beautiful solemn moment. I got my camera out of my bag and took a photo scene. The photo was unexpectedly beautiful. Being late at the scene turned out to be good.
