Hi Mum

Dalat 2nd - 3rd March

VIETNAM | Wednesday, 2 March 2016 | Views [340]

Despite the mad Vietnamese driving we made it to Dalat safe and sound at about 11ish. Our hostel was called cozy nook and it was an absolute dream, the best one we've stayed in. The beds we're so comfy and the family that run it were so lovely. They cooked us all a feast for dinner and it was fantastic. We went for lunch at an old converted train which was really cute and Kate and I had these huge blue cheese burgers.

We then took a look around a place called the crazy house. It was designed by a vietnamese woman who was the third presidents daughter and it was a bit gaudi-esque but a bit weirder. There were paths all over the buildings and it was all just a bit random but quite cool.

We then rented some swan pedalos and went round the Xuan huong lake for a while. It was good fun but more tiring than we had expected, especially after a bad nights sleep on that bus.

We had dinner at the hostel with about 25 of us all crammed around one table. Some of the people from halong bay happened to be staying at the hostel too so we went to this really weird bar that was brilliant. It was like a maze but it was really good fun.

Dalat was really pretty and quite european like with colourful buildings and coffee shops everywhere. Next up is Ho Chi Minh city which I'm really looking forward to as it should be really interesting. Thankfully the further south we go the better the weather is getting and apparently HCMC should be pretty hot so I'm definitely looking forward to that.
