Just in time

CAMBODIA | Friday, 23 September 2011 | Views [172]

After seven long weeks of Summer School, hours of sorting through books, typing up curriculum and photocopying nightmares all my workbooks for the new school year have been created and are at school. Great way to end summer school.

Was so stressful getting all these books to come together but here they are.....all beautifully sitting in boxes ready for students to use when the new school year starts at the beginning of October.

The way I have designed them is that all the semester’s work is complied together in either one or two books. No more photocopied handouts that can get lost or thrown away. All their work has been combined together with dotted third writing pages inserted so that our English lessons can be productive and ordered. I have placed a stronger focus on phonics, learning and using new vocabulary, grammar and activities that require speaking and listening. Lists of songs have been piled together along with the discovering of new games to make English class fun as well as being a positive learning experience.

I’m still amazed that all these books have come together just in time. If you had asked me in the past few weeks if I thought this could happen in this mist of disorganisation that is Cambodia I would reply “I highly doubt it”. O me of little faith.
