a light in Cambodia

One for the Cambodian, one for the Foreigner.

This has happened to me a couple of times now and it amuses me. While hanging out with a Cambodian friend we both order the same thing yet we get different sizes or things back. Yep it’s one order for Cambodians and one order for foreigners. Let me illustrate this with some pictures.

My friend gets a complimentary tea….what about me – where is my tea!!! Granted I did enjoy my extra refill of the iced lemon tea.

Also you need to be careful to order Loc Luk Khmer not Loc Luk English – Loc Luk Khmer has extra salad where as the English one has potato chips on the plate. Interesting...

Ok so things can be a bit different for non-locals. It is something you’ve just got to smile over. You pay a bit extra here, receive a different order there. It’s all good. It’s a daily reminder to not look at what others are getting and think “That’s not fair” but to be thankful for what you do have.
