Spinning the prayer wheels at Drepung Monastary, about 7km out of Lhasa. This was literally one of the best days I had in Tibet ~ beautiful sunny weather, a great hike, and friendly people.

At Nechung Monastary, once the seat of the Oracle of Tibet. The Dalai Lama would consult the oracle on all important issues of state. He would go into a trance in order to give his advice...really spooky, according to eyewitnesses. The Oracle fled to Dharamsala with the Dalai Lama ~ leaving behind such strange things as this door painted up with flayed human skins.
