    Our Lhasa crew ~ Carl, Mats, me, and Chontelle ~ on our very last morning in the Yak Hotel lobby. They headed off in the land cruiser to the border of Nepal and Everest Base Camp, and I headed off to the airport to fly back to Chengdu. by: lolo Views[527] An old man begins the kora at Drepung Monastary ~ I was gasping for breath on some of the steep cliffs (blaming it on the altitude, ahah) but he was doing just fine. by: lolo Views[513] This young monk led us around the kora at Drepung Monastary, taking the time to show us where we were meant to pray (touching our foreheads to holy rocks, and the like....) as well as posing for pictures for us. by: lolo Views[478] A young monk posing for photos at an altar along the Drepung kora circuit.     Prayer flags fluttering in the wind, high above Drepung Monastary. by: lolo Views[373] Spinning a prayer wheel, shielded from germs by the mask ~ a man makes his way around the Potala kora. by: lolo Views[390] This woman and her baby were lying by the side of the path leading up to the Potala Palace ~just begging for cash and food. by: lolo Views[444] Walking the kora surrounding the Potala, I was struck by how SHORT some of the women were, as compared to Mats, Carl, and even Chontelle and myself. by: lolo Views[389] A monk sitting beneath a tree as we exited the Potala was kind enough to grant us permission to take pix. by: lolo Views[393]
