We’ve
been to Madrid several times over the past years, so our days here we
spend wandering the streets, on breaks from our administrative chores
that keep us cooped up in our guest house - the Gran Duque. However,
on todays exercise break through town, we noticed a number of security
looking like guards outside key historical and official buildings.
They wear metal dog bowls on their heads as part of their uniform. We
don’t know enough Spanish to truly ask them what purpose they serve,
but if anyone out there in our reading audience knows the purpose of
these lovely hats, we’d love to hear from you!
Our
time in Europe is quickly coming to an end, and we leave tomorrow
mid-day for our flight to Guatemala, for our next adventure to study
spanish and volunteer in the local community for a month in Xela.
Travel with us, as we cross the Atlantic Ocean, and head west back
into the developing world.
