Surf Lifesaving Clubs form the foundation of the beach community here in Western Australia. We hit the beach in Scarborough today, and witnessed the Western Australian Surf Lifesaving Competition... thousands of kids from around the state were here to compete in beach and ocean rights of passage. It’s a family affair, and inspirational to see how these kids lives are built around the ocean, friendly competition, strength and safety.
Of course, after a healthy, happy day at the beach, we rewarded ourselves with fine Belgian beers downtown in Perth... best of the beach and beer all in one day.
