A blog about not that much
The reason I haven't done a journal is because we haven't done anything. Except on Saturday I completely cleaned the house for Parci's mum because they came back Sunday night. So the whole day was spent vacuuming, cleaning, washing, ironing etc. Then on Sunday I was stuff and sore. On Monday, we went into Gent. First we went to Dreamland (the big toy store) to get a present for a baby thing we're going to next month. We chose something off the list and I'm really not sure what it is supposed to be. Apparantly it is some sort of pole contraption to be put over a cot. It is literally though, a bunch of screws, and two white poles. Not very interesting in my perspective. I thought the colourful clothes were much more appealing BUT they might not be as useful as two white poles and a bunch of screws. Then we posted a postcard to my Aunt because I finally got her address even though I wrote the postcard 3 weeks ago, so it's a little outdated but still a postcard nonetheless. And today we fed ducks. I like feeding ducks. There was a sulky little girl though that came by us. Then her family walked up with a bag of bread and scowled at us and kept walking. What a happy bunch they seemed! Then when we left they appeared again, presumably to grab that duck feeding spot. And tonight we are eating fries and mussels. I want to see if I'm allergic to mussels, since it turns out I'm allergic to shellfish. Wasn't a big fan of crab or prawns anyways. But hopefully this mussel meal will go down well.
In other news for me to discuss is that today we booked a trip for 7 days to the east coast of Greece. I think it's on the east coast. Maybe it's the west coast. Actually, I think it is the west coast. The place is called Chania or Crete or something. I think the town is called Chania and it's in the Crete region, or the other way around. BUT our hotel is called Hotel Oasis. I do know that. And we are going to Heraklion Airport, which is 120km away but there's buses and we are only taking our humungous backpacker backpacks with us. We got the trip on sale as last minute tickets going out, with 7nights in a hotel and the return flights included in the price, so we are leaving sometime on Friday August 15th.
This is a link to what the hotel should be:

So far on our travels, we have not had very much luck with hotels. In Scarborough (Perth, WA), our hotel looked nothng like the website, there was no cups or anything, our ocean view consisted of cable wires and when we told the manager we had no ocean view, he politely told us that if we leaned over to the left we could see some of the ocean, therefore we get no refund. Prick.
And then in London, it was just dodgey. Complete with bedbugs. But with this hotel we did get a small refund after an expressive reply to a hotel review.
So about Greece. Apparantly it is near Turkey and Italy, according to my google map. Please remember I've never been very good at world geography. Even when I arrived here, I still couldnt remember where Belgium was on a map. And I still get the Australian states Victoria and NSW mixed up. (I figured it out now though. Victoria is the lower one with Melbourne)
And for all of my most eager readers, my loyal fan clubs and whoever else reads my stuff, I have prepared a map for you all, and also for future reference for myself.

But apparantly this picture won't show in my blog so you can follow the link above or click on the image at the top of my journal where you can see it anyway. And if clicking ont he image doesnt takr you to the gallery, then just look at the bottom of my last gallery (August 4th, Brussels)
I hope you like this accurate outlook on Europe.
I'm in a slightly bad mood at the moment due to a recurring case of the 'Hiccups' once every hour.
I hope you all miss me terribly. And I hope our flights come through for Greece!!! (I think I forgot to mention that because it is a lastminute flight sale, apparantly we can be outbid or something. Fingers crossed for us!). We decided to do this one big trip to Greece, and when we return we are going to look for work. So please if you know of any available jobs, let us know or give a good word for us. My english is superb.
And if anyone wants to go on day or weekend trips to local countries then please let us know because we want to travel with you!
Places of interest include:
Poland, Austria, Holland, France, Germany, All over Belgium, ETC ETC and anywhere else!
That is all from me because I must go help peel potatoes for dinner.
Oh, and since Gent is playing in the SOCCOR tomorrow, I'll show some support. YAY go Gent. There we go.
