Well, I set off in 17.5 days for San Jose, Costa Rica! First there will be 2 nights in Vancouver (visiting my best buds to get one last drink in), then a Greyhound trip to Seattle, where I will hopefully get a couple of hours of sleep before waking up at 3:30am for my 6am flight.

I'll climb onto a crowded plane and, at 9:35 that evening, touch down on a Costa Rican blacktop and get off the plane and into a foreign land! Thanks to couchsurfing.com, I've managed to accidentally stumble upon a lovely American by the name of Steve Rogers, whose flight gets in 10 minutes after mine does! How perfectly coincidental! So after some chatting and some very spontaneous decisions, we're gonna party it up in San Jose for a couple of nights and be in Bocas del Toro, Panama by the weekend! Then over the course of two months, many magical new experiences shall ensure, including but not limited to:

scuba diving. snorkling. volunteering with turtles. hiking the rainforest. seeing butterfly farms and frog ponds. climbing a volcano. seeing some central american strippers. searching for and hopefully seeing sloths, strawberry poison dart frogs, and blue morpho butterflies. conversing in Spanish in PAST TENSE (a new skill I've been teaching myself!). taking a salsa lesson. sleeping in a hammock on the beach. and much, much more! Stay tuned for details!
