Today Morgan, Katie and I went to Viareggio which is a beach
about 1 hour from Florence. We got kind of
lost on the way because we forgot to switch trains in Pisa but we finally
made it to the beach around 3. It also figures that the one day we tried to go
to the beach, it was cloudy! We bought an ice cream and a beach chair from the
snack bar when we got there and went to lay out even though it was kind of
windy and cloudy. I put my cover over my beach chair and while I was talking to
Katie on the phone, it felt like a drop fell on me from my chair. I kind of
felt the chair and it didn’t feel wet and as soon as I was telling Katie about
it, it started to POUR. Huge, fat raindrops just came pouring out of a faucet.
It was crazy! We waited it out under the shelter for awhile and just ended up
walking around the boardwalk with our towels wrapped around us. The whole beach
strip is really fun with a lot of cute stores and restaurants. We definitely
want to try and go back for a day but we don’t have very much time left so
hopefully we will make it back! The train ride home took way longer than the
ride there so we didn’t get into Florence until around 11PM. We took the bus
home, took showers and went to sleep like babies.
